Street Meet 2019 (all ages)

Saturday, June 15th


Street Meet is Ups and Downs annual 3km Walk-a-Thon Fundraiser @Pearce Estate Park Inglewood in Support of families and persons with Down syndrome. Activities include a talent show, carnival games, raffle, BBQ, guest speakers and a 3km walk.

Ho, Ho, Ho. Tis’ that time of year when we like to celebrate our annual Children’s Christmas Party! As tradition goes we will be hosted it at the Mountainview Bowling Alley with Glamorgan Bakery ginger bread decorating, retro 50’s five pin bowling, Christmas crafts, and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Clause. Word has it Mr. Clause’s sack will even have a gift for every child!! More Details coming soon.


TYA Christmas Dance (ages 13+)

What do you get when you mix Christmas sweaters, holiday spirit, music and Ups & Downs? You guessed it; our Christmas holiday dance for our Teens & Young Adults is back! Our resident DJ, Bruce, promises to play everyone’s favorite hits along with member’s song requests. We look forward to seeing all the awesome Christmas sweaters!! More Details coming soon. 


Down syndrome Awareness Week

Dinner & Dance Gala

Every year families of all ages come together to celebrate Down syndrome Awareness Week. This is a great opportunity to reconnect, share heart warming stories, and get to know families you may not meet at other events throughout the year. 
This year will feature a catered dinner from the Hampton's Chefs, speeches from Ups and Downs & guests, a slide show of events from the past year, and of course everyone's favourite part: THE DANCE.

T21/K6 Pumpkin Palooza (ages 0-12)

October 21st, 2018

On Sunday, October 21st at Cobb's Adventure Park from 11:30am-3:00pm we will be hosting a T21/K6 Event w/ Scott Gillis, Amanda Madriaga, and all of you!    
Cobb's is providing a private tent so we can meet as a group and enjoy a picnic lunch at 11:30am. Food for the lunch will not be provided, so please plan accordingly. Lunch will be followed by the Pumpkin Palooza activities. Activities include; Pictures with the Pumpkin Princesses, walk through the Pumpkin Patch, a Tractor Ride, Rope Maze, Giant Slide, Outdoor Bowling, Hooping Horses, Bouncy World, and more!

Ages 25+ Event: Picnic in the Park

We would love for you to join us for a picnic in the park! We will have games such as bocce ball, crocket, ladder ball, bean bag toss, Frisbee, giant connect four, velcro ball, and much more! We will also be providing burgers, hot dogs, and yummy snacks!  This event will be free of cost.

T21 Event: TommyK Play

October 14th, 2018

Our T21 Events are for families with a child age 0-5 (we encourage siblings to join as well). These events focus on fostering a strong community and bring younger families together in a casual environment. Children are encouraged to play and interact with one another, while parents offer peer support through story telling, sharing experiences, and sharing tips, pointers, and advice. Learn More!!

Dads'/Moms' Night Out (Batl Axe Throwing)

Are you interested in connecting with other Dads/Moms who have a child with Down syndrome? If so, then this night is for you! This is a great opportunity to share stories and meet other parents within the Down syndrome community while having fun and letting loose.

18+ Reader's Theatre Workshop

In these fun-filled Reader's Theatre/Drama Workshops, members will use drama games, reader's theatre, choral speech, and the group therapy approach to learn about; relaxation, breath, senses, voice, body, imagination, concentration, and emotions.

K6 Sunday Afternoon Movie

September 16th, 2018

Join us on Sunday, September 16th at the St. Andrew`s Centre from 1:00pm-4:00pm to check out Master Shifu and his famous Kung Fu Panda Po for an exciting afternoon movie. Bring your pillows, bean bags, blankets, and comfy clothes and get settled in with some popcorn and light snacks to watch Kung Fu Panda 3. Learn More!!


Hydra Martial Arts Workshops

Pedal Practice in the Park

August 25th, 2018

Ups and Downs will be hosting our second pedal practice on Saturday, Sept. 15th!! We will provide volunteers to help parents/caregivers as they teach their child. Unfortunately, we are not certified to teach bicycle skills and cannot offer guided lessons. We will, however, support parents/caregivers by providing assistance. In the future, we hope to offer certified bike teachers, but for now, we are only there to assist you.

Rowan's Ride

August 20th, 2018

White Spot Restaurant, Rowan (member with Down syndrome) and his Mother, Michelle, have teamed up to help raise funds for Ups & Downs in the second annual "Rowan's Ride" fundraiser. On Monday, August 20th, $5 from every Entree purchased at White Spot will be donated to Ups & Downs. Restaurant hours are; 11:00am-11:00pm.

3K Walk-A-Thon at Pearce Estate Park Inglewood in support of families and persons with Down Syndrome.

In 2017 we saw a 36% increase in our family memberships; and with this increased membership came larger operational costs for our organization. As so we graciously ask for your help to make this year's Street Meet even more successful than ever! With your help, Ups and Downs has the ability to keep providing families and individuals the support they require!

Wonder Years Conference 2018

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

May 7th, 2018

Please come join us for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the St. Andrew's Centre on Monday May 7th from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Refreshment and snacks will be provided. We require a minimum amount of people at the AGM for it to proceed so please RSVP as soon as you can via email at director@upsdowns.org .  

This is your opportunity to elect your Board of Directors, provide input on the direction of our organization, review past and present activities, review 2017 financials, and be updated on the progress of the Visiting Parents Program.
