Ups and Downs Casino Fundraiser – November 9 & 10, 2025
We’re excited to announce that Ups and Downs will be hosting a casino fundraiser at Elbow River Casino on Sunday, November 9 and Monday, November 10, 2025.
This fundraiser provides incredible opportunities for our association to continue supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Casino events are one of our most impactful sources of funding, and we deeply appreciate your time and support.
Volunteer Roles & Coordination
This year’s casino is being coordinated by Chantal Petersen, and we’re looking for volunteers to fill a variety of roles including:
General Manager
Banker
Cashier
Chip Runner
Count Room Staff
Training is provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Shifts are available during the day and evening, and meals are provided for volunteers.
Volunteer Perks
Volunteers receive complimentary meals during their shift and can request a letter confirming volunteer hours for school, work, or community service requirements.
Membership Participation Goal
Our goal is to have at least 80% of volunteers be Ups and Downs members. AGLC is monitoring volunteer participation closely, and maintaining strong member involvement helps ensure our eligibility for future casino events.
How Your Support Helps
Funds raised through this casino directly support key Ups and Downs programs such as Wonder Years, Teen and Young Adult Conference (TYAC), and more! These initiatives foster inclusion, leadership, and community connection for individuals with Down syndrome across all ages.
