Homemade Perogies
(Hands‑on cooking class, 6:00–8:00 pm)

Date: Monday, May 11
Location: 1715 17 Ave SE – YW Community Hub
Cost: $10 per participant (registration is per person)


In this traditional favourite class, participants will roll, fill, and seal homemade perogies from scratch, discovering the joy of making dumplings by hand while cooking alongside a friend.

This class focuses on:

  • Dough handling and rolling
  • Preparing savoury fillings
  • Sealing techniques
  • Boiling and pan‑frying perogies
  • Fine motor skills and kitchen confidence

Important registration note:
Although this class is called Cooking with a Friend, each participant must be registered individually. Participants are welcome to attend alongside a friend, but registration and pricing are per person.

Dietary note:
This class is not gluten‑free, as traditional perogy dough contains wheat flour.

All classes are led by Sydney Weipert, Jamie Gervais, and Sara Waqas, experienced instructors with strong backgrounds in culinary education and supporting individuals with Down syndrome.
