Meet our new team member
My name is Dawn Chapman. I have recently joined Ups and Downs as a Program Coordinator. I’m originally from Victoria, BC but have lived in Calgary for 14 years.
I have three daughters and a son. The younger three are in professional division dance, this keeps us busy. This past March they participated in a production of Frozen, and my son played Little Kristoff. My oldest daughter is graduating from high school this year. She is planning on taking a year off from school before going into social work.
After being a stay-at-home mom for a few years I decided to go back to school because I enjoy learning. I am currently working towards a Disability Studies diploma from Bow Valley College. I chose this program because I enjoy helping people. During my studies, I discovered a passion for advocating for inclusion. I intend to use this passion and my love of learning, to empower others and build connections. I hope that by doing this I can influence a change that will encourage people to appreciate and value the differences that surround us and inspire a cohesive society.
I am excited to be part of Ups and Downs and all that I will learn from the people that I connect with.
